Winemaker's Reserve Dry Red Wine
This Tempranillo is a special wine for the Eden Hill Family, as the weather during the 2013 vintage was unseasonably dry and cool during the ripening season in Texas, and we were able to let the grapes hang as long as possible to build extra flavor and aromas. The result was a small, intense harvest of the best Tempranillo grapes we've ever had.
The fermentation was smooth and cool, developing an intensely dark full bodied wine. It finished with the much sought after dusty tannins on the back palette. After settling the wine for a month after fermentation, it was decided to rack it into neutral barrels. After three months of aging, we made the decision to finish the aging of the wine in neutral tanks without introducing it to any oak. After bottling we laid the wine down for a year before release.
